
WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State freshmen Emily Churchman and Jennifer Kiss and sophomore Courtland Ingram finished their first-day events at the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Multi-Event Championships today, hosted by Central Missouri State. On the women's side of the heptathlon, Churchman stands fifth while Kiss is 10th. Ingram holds the fourth spot on the men's side of the decathlon.
Churchman has a total count of 2,516 points after four events. Her best event came in the shot put with a toss of 35' 3", which was good for second among the 10th athletes. Meanwhile, Kiss has posted 1,706 points and trails overall leader Lori Pitz of Central Missouri State (2,964 points).
After five events in the decathlon, Ingram has totaled 3,208 points. He has not gotten worse than seventh nor better than fourth in any of the first-day events. The men's leader after Sunday is Cameron Babb of Emporia State with 3,557 points.
All three Bearcats will finish competition at the Multi-Events tomorrow (Monday). The women have three more events to complete while the men have five events. Other athletes will participate at the MIAA Outdoor Championships hosted by Emporia State May 6-7.
