Small Track Contingent Competes at CMSU Relays

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Freshman Martin Curley finished fourth in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump to lead Northwest athletes at the Central Missouri State University Mule Relays on April 21. Four Bearcats competed in the meet, while other members are currently participating in the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kan.

Curley recorded a 21’ 11 1/2” mark in the long jump and 42’ 7” in the triple jump. Freshman Gabe Peters competed in the three weight-throwing events, finishing 12th in the hammer throw with 136’ 6”, 13th in the shot put with 41’ 3”, and threw 129’ 3” in the discus to finish 17th. Freshman Bradley Cox placed seventh in the pole vault, clearing 19’ 9 1/4”.

Sophomore Sam Robinson finished 21st in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash with 11.78.

Northwest Track and Field teams currently at the Kansas Relays will complete competition on Sat., April 22.
