Prange Earns First Team Academic All-District Honors

MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Northwest Missouri State senior student-athlete Clint Prange (Shelbyville, Mo.) was named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VII Men's Track & Field/Cross Country First Team today. The award occurs on the same day in which Prange gets recognized with the Ken B. Jones Award for the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) male student athlete of the year.

Prange won the 2005 NCAA Division II National Championships in the shot put (66-1) and discus (191-11). His winning throw in the shot set a Division II championship meet record. Prange set the conference meet record in outdoor shot put at the MIAA Championships (May 7) with a toss of 62 feet, 1 inch and holds the school record in indoor shot put (61-11). Over the course of the indoor and outdoor seasons, Prange won one MIAA Indoor Field Athlete of the Week and four Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors.

The 2004 Magna Cum Laude graduate is a agricultural business major and an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship winner from this past winter. Prange is Vice-President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and a charter member of the Collegiate Farm Bureau. A five-time All-American between the shot put and discus, Prange was a 2003 Verizon First Team Academic All-Region pick.
