Prange Earns Third Outdoor MIAA Weekly Honor

Clint Prange (Shelbyville, Mo.) earned his third honor in four weeks after the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics
Association (MIAA) announced yesterday he is Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for Apr. 25-May 1. Prange placed fifth in the invitational shot put and improved his season-best mark in the event at the Drake (Iowa) Relays this past Saturday.
He was the top collegiate thrower in the elite event, with a mark of 61'4." He would have won the collegiate event with his throw by two inches, and better his mark last week at the Kansas Relays by three inches.
In the 2005 indoor and outdoor season, Prange has totaled four weekly honors. He is coming off an indoor campaign where he was All-American in the shot put after he took third at Nationals. He is the school recordholder in that event with a heave of 61'11."
Both the men and women travel to the MIAA Championships, hosted by Pittsburg State, on May 7-8. Prange won the 2005 MIAA indoor title in the shot with a toss of 59'5 1/2."
