Prange Wins Third 2005 MIAA Weekly Award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Northwest Missouri State senior thrower Clint Prange (Shelbyville, Mo.) won the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for Apr. 4-10. The award is his second consecutive weekly honor and third for the 2005 track season - he won it on Feb. 22 for the indoor campaign.

At the Bulldog Invitational on Saturday hosted by Concordia (Neb.), Prange automatically qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in both the shot and discus. He posted a shot mark of 61'4 1/2" to win the event by more than 10 feet. His discus win came with a distance of 181'3" -- more than five feet ahead of the pack.

On the NCAA Performance List (as of Apr. 11), Prange stands first in the discus and third in the shot put after his efforts this past Saturday.

Prange joins his teammates this weekend at the Division II Classic and Multis on Apr. 14-16 hosted by Emporia State.
