Numerous Athletes to Place in Top Rank at the Prairie Wolf Invitational
Lincoln, Neb. -- Northwest Missouri State's indoor track and field headed over to the Prairie Wolf Invitational at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The 'Cats came away with many athletes placing very high in their events.
Taking a glance at Northwest's field events, Clint Prange took first place in Shot put with a throw of 57'06"1/4. Senior Mary Wirt once again placed second in weight throw with a launch of 53'11". Another one of NCAA performance list as of Feb. 1, Dallas Flynn placed fourth in the men's shot put with a distance of 52'8". Anthony Jackson landed in the fourth spot in the men's Long Jump with a marking of 22'4"1/4.
In the women's 5000 Meter Run, Senior Ashley Grosse went the distance placing ninth among 30 competitors with a time of 19:04.70. Matt Pohren placed fifth in the men's 5000 M Run with a time of 15:22.90 out of 33 other competitors.
Beating her time that placed her on the recent NCAA performance list Alisha Samuel placed first in the 60 M dash with a new time of 7.65. Samuel also took second in the 200 M dash with a clock of 25.57. Kailea Cook placed seventh with a time of 7.95.
E.J. Falkner took first place in the men's 400M dash with a time of 48.83. Falkner placed third in the 200M dash with 21.98 beating his time that placed him on the recent NCAA performance list.
Senior Steph Suntken placed ninth among 31 competitors in the women's 800M run with a time 2:19.74.
Northwest's Women's Distance Medley placed third with a clock of 13:48.84.
The 'Cats will compete at the Central Missouri Classic on Feb. 19th.
