Northwest Lands High Among the Placings at the Panther Classic on Feb. 5th.

Cedar Falls, Ia. -- The Northwest Missouri State women's track and field team traveled up to Cedar Falls, Iowa this weekend (Feb. 5th) for the Panther Classic at the University of Northern Iowa where the 'Cats landed very high in the placings against many Division I schools.

After being recognized seventh in the latest NCAA Performance list, junior Alisha Samuel placed first with her highest time of the year in the 60m dash with a time of 7.67. Mary Wirt, who was recognized 15th in the NCAA performance weight throw list, placed second at the Panther Classic with a throw of 53'9" in the weight throw. In the high jump event Northwest's Halley Carlson finished in 3rd place with a height of 5' 1/2".

The 'Cats will see more action next weekend at the Prairie Wolf Invitational in Lincoln, Neb. on Feb. 11th.
