Tierney Eaton Signs at Northwest for 2006

MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Northwest Missouri State head women's track and field coach Scott Lorek announced the signing of Tierney Eaton (Grant City, Mo.) to a National Letter of Intent today. The student at Worth County High School will compete in the hurdles and high jump and possibly in the heptathlon at Northwest.

"Tierney is a great, solid addition to our program," said Lorek. "I rarely sign anyone early but I am confident that she will be real good in her career here at Northwest."

At the 2004 Missouri State Track and Field Class 1 Championships, Eaton took first in the 100M Hurdles and second in the High Jump. As a member of the 4x200 and 4x100 Relay squads, Tierney and her teammates took first and second at the Championships, respectively. Individually, she set personal bests in the high jump with a leap of 5'6" and the 100M Hurdles with a mark of 15.75.

Tierney received team awards in the form of "Top Points" and the "Most Improved."

The Northwest women team up with the men's program to kick off the 2005 indoor season with a date at the Iowa State University Holiday Open Friday, Dec. 10.
