WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University men’s track and field squad had nine top-three performances at their portion of the Central Missouri State University Mule Relays Saturday.

Gabriel Helms (Jr., St. Louis, Mo.) came home as the big winner for the Bearcats with a win in the 200-meter dash (21.89 seconds) and a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash (6.84). His 60-meter dash time lowered his national provisional qualifying mark of 6.86 set at the Nebraska Invitational earlier this season. Right behind Helms in the 200-meter dash was E.J. Faulkner (Fr., Omaha, Neb.) in third place in a time of 22.38. Faulker also took seventh in the 60-meter dash (6.96) and fifth in the 400-meter run with a clocking of 50.06.

Eric Isley (So., Pleasantville, Iowa) took home the other championship of the day in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.61. Kyle Keraus (Sr., Garner, Iowa) followed Isley in third place with a time of 1:57.33.

The freshmen had standout performances in other running events, with Drew Wilson (Fr., Stanton, Iowa) placing fourth in the mile run (4:23.36) and Tyler Martin (Fr., Berndena, Kan.) taking fifth in the 600-yard run (1:15.18).

In the day’s earlier field events, Daniel McKim (Jr., Maryville, Mo.) finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 56 feet, 3 inches and third in the shot put with a heave of 51-10.50. Former Bearcat standout Tucker Woolsey won the shot put as an unattached thrower with a mark of 59-2.

Diezeas Calbert (Fr., Omaha, Neb.) led the jumpers with a third-place finish in the triple jump (45-5.25). Anthony Jackson (Fr., Des Moines, Iowa) finished eighth in the long jump (21-6.75), and Pat Jordan (Jr., Maryville, Mo.) took seventh in the high jump (6-5). Clif McIntosh (Fr., Conception Jct., Mo.) rounded out the field events by tying for seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 14-3.25.

The Bearcat men return to the track next week on Feb. 13 at the Prairie Wolf Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.
