LINCOLN, Neb. – The Northwest Missouri State University track and field teams completed Day One of the Nebraska/Holiday Inn Invitational Friday, which included most of the field and distance events.

For the men, Eric Isley (So., Pleasantvillle, Iowa) came out strong in the 800-meter run and finished third with a time of 1:53.51, which provisionally qualified him for the national meet. Brad Elliott (So., Mount Ayr, Iowa) finished behind Isley in 11th place (1:59.24).

Daniel McKim (Jr., Maryville, Mo.) led the Bearcat field team with a fourth place finish in the weight throw (57 feet, 3.5 inches). Diezeas Calbert (Fr., Omaha, Neb.) took seventh place in the long jump with a leap of 21-4 and ninth place in the high jump (6-0.75).

On the women's side, Steph Suntken (Jr., Indianola, Iowa) continued to improve her time in the 800-meter run with a fourth-place time of 2:20.60. Dia McKee (So., O'Fallon, Mo.) followed in 12th place with a time of 2:28.35.

In the women's field action, Gara Lacy (Sr., Jefferson City, Mo.) took home fourth place in the long jump with a mark of 16-10.50. Mary Wirt (Sr., Liberty, Mo.) placed fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 49-7.25, and Bridget Shields (Jr., Lathrop, Mo.) took ninth in the pole vault by clearing 10-0.

Saturday's action in Lincoln will continue at noon with the sprint and hurdle events.
