Ryan Anderson begins his second year with the Bearcats following three successful seasons at the University of Missouri-Rolla.

Anderson led the Lady Miners to their most successful three-season stretch in school history, gaining a 107-49 (.686) overall record. Anderson's teams set and broke more than 20 records, and the program achieved the school's first recognition in nationwide rankings. His teams schieved regional rankings for three seasons, and he also led UMR to its first back-to-back winning seasons.

Over the three-year span, the Lady Miners produced a school-best 41-win season in 2004. UMR was 41-14 in Anderson's first year at the helm, finishing second in the regular season race and third in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Tournament. The team also had the MIAA's most valuable player in pitcher Christy Daken, the first of four all-region players who performed for the Lady Miners under Anderson's tutelage. That record-setting season was followed by a 33-25 campaign in 2005 and last year's mark of 33-10 in UMR's first season as a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).

Prior to Missouri-Rolla, Anderson was the head softball coach for the University of Minnesota-Crookston in 2003. Anderson led the team to a school record for conference wins in a season.

A native of Colby, Kan., Anderson got his coaching resume started as an assistant coach the University of Nebraska-Kearney. At UNK, he focused on recruiting, team development and administrational duties. He also worked as marketing and promotions assistant, handling a variety of events and organizations during his three years there.

Anderson received his bachelor's degree in sports administration with a minor in business administration from the UNK in 1999. From 1999 through 2001, he worked in the UNK Athletic Department as a marketing and promotions assistant. He was a part of organizing such events as the Blue/Gold Celebrity Golf Tournament, promoted UNK throughout the community (media day, posters, schedules, cards, media guides) and assisted the athletic director in fund-raising and corporate sponsorships.

Anderson and his wife, Ashley, reside in Maryville.
