Softball schedule changed for upcoming weekend
MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State softball team has moved their double-header against Emporia State to Sunday, but will be hosting Washburn as originally scheduled for Saturday.
Northwest went 3-1 in last weekend’s four game set moving them up two spots in the MIAA conference standings, putting the team in sixth place as they head down the final stretch of the season.
Eight Bearcat seniors will be honored at Bearcat Field before the start of the first game on Saturday. Game one of the double-header against Washburn is slated to start at 1 p.m. with game two set to follow. The Lady Blues come into the weekend with a 9-27, 5-13 record.
Northwest will host Emporia State Sunday for a conference double-header. ESU boasts a 27-12 record on the year with a 14-6 conference record. The Hornets are currently fourth in the conference standings coming into the weekend.
The Bearcats are currently 22-12, 10-8 this season. Head Coach Ryan Anderson will be going for his 170th win as the head coach at Northwest and career win number 280. Northwest will have their final home game Tuesday against Lincoln with a scheduled start time of 2 p.m.
