Softball set for weekend series
MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State softball team had to reschedule Thursdays games against Lincoln, but will still host Lindenwood and Truman State Saturday and Sunday.
The Bearcats are looking to rebound after going 1-3 last weekend in conference play. Northwest is currently 19-11 on the season and 7-7 in MIAA play putting them eighth in the conference.
Lindenwood will take on Head Coach Ryan Anderson’s team Saturday for a double-header starting at noon. The Lady Lions come in to the weekend with a 17-19, 8-8 record and are one game ahead of the Bearcats in the MIAA standings.
Northwest will host Truman State Sunday for a two game set with first pitch scheduled for noon with game two to follow. Truman is currently sixth in the MIAA standings with a 20-10 record on the season and 8-6 record in conference play.
“It’s always good to be able to play teams that are ahead of you in the conference late in the season so you can gain ground in the standings,” said Coach Anderson about the upcoming weekend. The Bearcats will have a chance to make a move in the MIAA standings with the four game set starting Saturday.
