Northwest softball picked to finish seventh

KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State softball was selected to finish seventh in the MIAA preseason coaches' poll released on Monday by the conference office. The Bearcats finished last season with a record of 26-24 overall and went 9-11 in conference play.

Nebraska-Omaha was picked to win the conference this season. The Mavericks received eight first-place votes and totaled 118 points. Emporia State received four first-place votes and collected 114 points. Northwest received 63 total points.

The Bearcats finished last season in sixth-place in the league. Below is a complete list of the poll:

3. Fort Hays State - 95 pts.
4. Missouri Western - 90 pts.
5. Central Missouri - 86 pts.

7. Northwest Missouri - 63 pts.
8. Truman - 44 pts.
T9. Missouri Southern - 39 pts.
T9. Pittsburg State - 39 pts.
11. Southwest Baptist - 29 pts.
12. Lincoln - 11 pts.
