Carter Named to All-MIAA Second Team
<em>Three more earn honorable mention honors</em>
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest's single-season RBI record-holder Tiffany Carter earned second-team All-MIAA honors as selected by the league's coaches and released by the conference office May 1. Jennifer Bohle, Casey Carper and Erin Leslie each earned honorable mention accolades.
Carter was one of two utility players on the second team after she finished her two-year Northwest career fifth in program records with 100 career RBIs. She led the MIAA with 1.02 RBIs per game and led the Bearcats with 11 home runs, nine doubles and a .355 batting average. She posted a 10-game hitting streak from March 13-21.
Bohle started 48 games at shortstop and was second on the team with a .449 slugging percentage. She made no errors during the 13 home games and put together a 14-game errorless streak from March 31-April 19.
Carper, a second-team pick as a junior last season, led the team with a .989 fielding percentage (one error in 91 chances) in 40 games in the outfield. She finishes her two-year Northwest career second in batting average (.368) and triples (13) and ninth with a .481 slugging percentage.
Leslie earned her third straight MIAA postseason honor in her junior season after finishing eighth in MIAA statistics with 0.71 runs per game. She accounted for nearly 20 percent of the Bearcat runs this season and tied for seventh in program records with 36.
