PITTSBURG, Kan.—A grand slam by Jennifer Bohle, two strong pitching performances and a four-hit effort by Casey Carper highlighted day one of the PSU/MSSU Crossover Tournament Friday. Northwest beat Newman 9-1 and Oklahoma Panhandle State 15-1 in a pair of short-inning games.
Bohle went 2-for-3 with the slam against the Newman Jets, who Northwest beat 3-2 to cap last weekend’s Southeastern Oklahoma State Tournament. It was the first multi-hit game of the season for Bohle, who tied Tiffany Carter for the Bearcat lead in home runs with three.
