Softball Heads Further South For Weekend Tournament

MARYVILLE, Mo.—Northwest Missouri State’s softball team will not be competing at Evangel’s Tournament in Springfield, Mo., this weekend. With the weather cancelling play there, the Bearcats will travel three-and-a-half hours further south to compete at Arkansas Tech University’s Spring Slam Saturday and Sunday. Most of the teams scheduled to play at Evangel have made the switch to Arkansas Tech as well.

Five teams, Arkansas Tech, Northwest, Drury, Pittsburg State and William Penn, will play a round-robin tournament with the team sporting the best record at the end being named tournament champion.

The Bearcats will play every team once, but has scheduled a second game with William Penn, an NAIA program from Iowa, Sunday. The full tournament schedule is listed below:
