MARYVILLE - Northwest Missouri State head softball coach Ryan Anderson has signed two student-athletes for the 2008 season, announced today. Tiffany Graham, an infielder from Bethany, Mo., and Kelsey Resa, a pitcher/infielder from Shelbyville, Mo., will join the Bearcats for the 2008 season.

"I am looking forward to having both Tiffany and Kelsey join the Bearcat softball program," said Anderson. "I believe their successful high school and junior college backgrounds will fit right in with our program at Northwest."

Graham, who will enter 2008 as a junior, comes from North Central Missouri College in Bethany. As a freshman in 2006, Graham played third base and was a First Team All-Region 16 selection for the Lady Pirates. She batted .364, stole a team-high 35 bases and compiled 28 RBIs.

A 2005 graduate of South Harrison High School, Graham was a stand-out shortstop earning first team all-state honors as a senior. She also was named four times to the all-conference team and three times to the all-district squad. Graham is the daughter of Ronald and Annie Graham and will plan on majoring in pre-speech pathology.

While a prep at North Shelby (Mo.) High School, Resa ended her career with records for most innings pitched in a season (188), most strikeouts in a season (271) and most total bases in a season (47). She is a three-time first team all-state honoree and was the Team MVP for three seasons. Selected to the all-district first team for all four seasons, Resa helped North Shelby High to a Class 1A State Championship in 2004. She was named the Tri-River Conference MVP following her senior season in 2006. Resa is the daughter of John and Angie Resa and will plan to major in chemistry and biology at Northwest.

First-year head coach Ryan Anderson will take over a program in 2007 to finish last season with a school-best record of 40-15 and a berth in the NCAA Regionals. The Bearcats are scheduled to begin the season on Feb. 17 at Lincoln (Mo.) University.
