MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State softball program has announced the signing of Chelsea Terhune (Savannah, Mo.) to a Northwest athletic scholarship. Terhune will be a junior for the 2007 season after playing one year at Central Missouri State and one year at Highland (Kan.) Community College.

Terhune's primary position is pitcher, but can also play first base and outfield. While at Highland last season, Terhune earned Second Team All-KJCCC and all-region honors as a pitcher. In volleyball, she was named to the all-tournament team and recognized with all-region and all-league accolades in 2005. Prior to that, she played one season at Central Missouri State (2005) where she held a 1-1 mark and a 2.41 earned run average in 5 appearances.

As a prep at Savannah High School, Terhune was a star in basketball and volleyball earning all-conference recognition in 2003.

First-year head coach Ryan Anderson will take over a program in 2007 to finish last season with a school-best record of 40-15 and a berth in the NCAA Regionals.
