Coach Anderson Honored With 100 Wins at NFCA National Convention

MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Northwest Missouri State head softball coach Susan Anderson will be honored for her coaching achievement of 100 career wins this weekend at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) National Convention to be held Dec. 3-6 at the Las Vegas Hilton. The NFCA will honor over 175 coaches that notched milestone victories in 2004 as part of the Easton Victory Club luncheon which will take place at the Convention. The Easton Victory Club honors coaches that have eclipsed the 100-win, 200-win, 300-win mark and beyond.

"It is real special because my 100th win came against Central Missouri State, my former college coach and team," said Anderson. "We had to come back to win the game which made it even better. Plus, getting the 100th as a Bearcat was very nice."

Anderson completed her second year at Northwest following 2004 and holds a 50-54 mark as a Bearcat. She has compiled an overall record of 107-130 (.451) with stops at Dakota State (S.D.) and St. Mary (Kan.) College. While at Dakota State from 2001-02, Anderson led the club to a +20 win turnaround from an inherited 2000 team that went 5-20. She engineered the program to a school-record 25-13 log in 2002 and its first-ever appearance in a NAIA regional tournament. At her stint at St. Mary, Anderson's team set a school record for most wins in a single season with 15 in 2000.

The 1997 graduate of Central Missouri State was a two-time All-America performer in 1996 and 1997 and helped the Jennies to a four-place national finish in 1994.
