MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Northwest Missouri State University head softball coach has announced the signing of Crystal Gustin (Kansas City, Mo.) to a national letter-of-intent. Gustin, who plays shortstop, played her high school softball for Raytown High School. In the summer, she is a member of the KC White Sox. At Raytown High School, Gustin was a four-time all-conference honoree. She was a first-team all-conference selection as a junior and a unanimous first-teamer as a senior. Gustin also earned first-team all-district and second-team all-area honors last season. She was named Raytown's Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year. Gustin batted .434 and put together a .979 fielding percentage last season. Gustin has helped lead her summer team to a national tournament berth. The KC White Sox recently won the ASA regional tournament and will be taking part in the ASA National Championship Tournament Aug. 1-8. She is currently batting .319 and has turned in a fielding percentage of .959 so far this summer. Gustin will be a freshman at Northwest this fall. |
