Tracy Hoza was named head women's soccer coach at Northwest on January 9, 2003. Hoza is the second head coach in the history of the Bearcat soccer program.
Hoza comes to Northwest from Toledo (Ohio) University, where she served as an assistant with the NCAA Division I program for two seasons. During her two years with the Rockets, they compiled a 14-18-3 record.
Prior to her time at Toledo, Hoza was the assistant coach at Lock Haven (Pa.) University. She helped the Lady Eagles to a 32-6-3 mark in two seasons as the assistant coach at Lock Haven. In addition, Lock Haven won two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships while Hoza was an assistant there. The Lady Eagles advanced to the 1999 NCAA Division II Sweet 16 in 1999, while taking one more step to the Elite Eight in 2000.
A 1995 graduate of Mercyhurst (Pa.), Hoza was a four-year letterwinner for the Lakers during her collegiate career. The Limerick, Ireland native earned NSCAA All-America honors following the 1994 and 1995 seasons. Hoza was a three-time All-Region honoree and captained the Lakers' 1994 NCAA Division II Final Four team. She also played for the Irish Junior and Senior National Teams from 1987-1991.
Hoza holds her undergraduate degree from Mercyhurst in sports medicine. She received her master's degree in liberal arts from Lock Haven.
