Six Bearcats honored by MIAA
MARYVILLE, Mo. –Six members of the Northwest Missouri State women’s soccer team were tabbed Honorable Mention All-MIAA announced by the league Friday.
Junior goal keeper Kelsey Adams had a very impressive season for the Bearcats. Adams ranked second in the MIAA in saves (101) and saves per game (6.31) and was instrumental in four shutouts this season for Northwest.
Junior Jordan Albright earned honorable mention as one of the top defenders in the MIAA. Albright played multiple positions for the Bearcats and was successful finishing with two goals and one assist in 2012.
Amanda Bundrant earned honorable mention All-MIAA accolades as a midfielder. Bundrant is one of two seniors the Bearcats lose this season. The senior scored four goals and added two assists to close out her career.
Anna Calgaard was named to the team as a midfielder. Calgaard, a junior, played in 17 games this season and had two goals and three assists.
Finally, Bearcat midfielder Fiona Maloney was named Honorable Mention All-MIAA selection. Maloney played in 18 games for Northwest this season and was a key factor on defense as well as offense.
Junior Victoria Von Mende had a career setting season for the Bearcats in 2012. Von Mende broke the Northwest records for career goals (17) and career points (38). This season Von Mende totaled 17 points with seven goals and three assists. The junior also had a hat trick against Lindenwood.
The Bearcats finished the 2012 season at 8-7-3 overall and 6-5-2 in the MIAA. Northwest lost in the first round of the MIAA playoffs to Northeastern State 2-1.
