Jennies take down the Bearcats 2-0
MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State women’s soccer team lost to Central Missouri 2-0 Sunday at Bearcat Pitch.
It was only the second time this season the Bearcats had been shutout and the first time at home.
The Jennies were aggressive in the first half out shooting Northwest 11-4.
Goal keeper Kelsey Adams and the rest of the defense were able to keep the game tied going into half.
UCM scored early in the second half with a goal in the 57th minute to go ahead 1-0. The Jennies added their second goal in the 76th minute after an initial save from Adams.
The Bearcats were unable to land a goal on nine shots in the second half and fell to the Jennies 2-0.
Central Missouri remains undefeated in MIAA competition this season.
Northwest goes into the final game of the regular season with an 8-5-3, 6-3-2 record. The Bearcats meet up with Missouri Southern (4-8-2, 4-4-1) Sunday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. on Bearcat Pitch.
