Bearcats fall to Fort Hays 3-1

HAYS, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State women’s soccer team suffered its first loss in five games as Fort Hays State won 3-1 Saturday morning in Hays, Kan.

The Bearcat defense stood strong and both teams entered the half tied 0-0 with 11 combined shots.

The tie was broken three minutes into the second half by Fort Hays. The Tigers had three goals, coming at the 48, 54 and 78 minute marks.

Anna Holden added the lone goal for the Bearcats in the 83rd minute. The goal was assisted by Jordan Albright.

Northwest moves to 7-4-3 in the regular season and 5-2-2 in MIAA. The Bearcats will finish the 2012 season with three consecutive home games.

Southwest Baptist (6-5-2, 3-2-2) will take on Northwest Friday as kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
