Bearcats play Nebraska-Kearney to a 1-1 tie
KEARNEY, Neb. – The Northwest Missouri State women’s soccer team played another tight match Thursday with Nebraska-Kearney that ended in a 1-1 tie.
Make the latest match for the Bearcats was their ninth game decided by one goal or less.
Northwest went into the contest looking to stay near the top of the MIAA standings.
Nebraska-Kearney came into this match trying to score early. The Lopers put in the first goal of the game during the 29th minute to go up 1-0.
Northwest was outshot in the first half six to five. The defense held strong to go into the second half only down by one.
Amanda Bundrant came through for the Bearcats with her fourth goal of the season. The goal came in the 72nd minute with an assist from Victoria Von Mende.
Kelsey Adams collected six saves in the game to add to her conference leading total (79).
The Bearcats move to 7-3-3 on the season and 5-1-2 in MIAA play.
Northwest will stay on the road Saturday as they take on Fort Hays State with kickoff scheduled for 11 a.m.
