Bearcats fall to Graceland
MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State women’s soccer team lost to nonconference opponent Graceland Tuesday at home 3-1.
Graceland, the no. 18 team in the NAIA looked evenly matched with the Bearcats in the first half. Northwest managed 11 shots, while Graceland put up seven shots of their own.
Neither team could manage a goal in the first half.
Graceland came out fast in the second half putting in the first goal of the game during the 54th minute. The Yellow Jackets would add two more goals in the 56th and 80th minutes.
The Bearcats added their only goal when Kiersten Mottl put one in the back of the net in the 88th minute. Elizabeth Walde was credited with the assist.
The week has only just begun for the Bearcats as they have two conference games still to play.
Northeastern State comes to Bearcat Pitch Friday for a 4 p.m. kickoff. Sunday the Bearcats take on Central Oklahoma to finish out the home stand.
