Bearcats hit the road for two matches
MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State women’s soccer team opens up conference play this week.
Friday marks the start of MIAA play for the Bearcats as they take on conference newcomer Lindenwood (1-0-1) in St. Charles at 7 p.m.
Northwest will meet up with Truman State (3-1) on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Kirksville.
The Bearcats as a team have performed very well throughout their first four games. Northwest has outshot its opponents 93-55 and outscored opponents 16-8.
Junior Victoria Von Mende and freshman Chelsea Fournier lead the team with three goals each. Amanda Bundrant has made her presence felt during her senior campaign with two goals and two assists.
Junior Jordan Albright has two goals on the year, one being a last minute goal to send the match into overtime which the Bearcats would eventually win.
“This week we have been working on the little things,” Head Coach Tracy Hoza said. “We need to fix those as we go into conference. Conference play is exciting for me, it’s exciting for the girls and it’s going to be fun.”
Northwest will be on the road until they play Graceland Sept. 25 at Bearcat Pitch.
