Bearcats continue nonconference play in Nebraska
MARYVILLE, Mo. – Northwest Missouri State women’s soccer team head to Wayne State (Neb.) before returning home on Sunday to face Winona State.
The Bearcats opened Friday with a 2-2 tie after 2 overtime periods against St. Cloud. Sunday the Bearcats’ offense shined as they won 9-1 over Newman University.
This week the Bearcats hit the road as they take on Wayne State (Neb.) who is 0-2, at 5 p.m. They will be back home Sunday as Winona State (0-2) comes to Maryville. That game will kickoff at noon at the Bearcat Pitch.
After the first weekend junior Victoria Von Mende picked up where she left off in 2011 as she leads the team with six total points. Sophomore Elizabeth Walde added two goals of her own, while six other Bearcats added one goal apiece.
Head Coach Tracy Hoza was very excited for her offenses fast start.
“We had 11 goals in two games which is great from an attacking stand point,” Hoza said. “We look to build on that going into our games this week”
