Bearcats to take on No. 10 Jennies

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State University women’s soccer team returns to MIAA action Thursday night when they travel to conference powerhouse No. 10 Central Missouri.
Northwest (8-3-2, 5-1 MIAA) matches up against the Jennies (13-1-0, 5-0 MIAA) Thursday night in Warrensburg at 7 p.m. The Bearcats are coming off of a 2-0 week for the week of Oct. 11 as beat conference rival Missouri Western on the road 5-1 before returning home last Saturday and beating Fort Hays State 2-1.
Victoria Von Mende continued her scoring ways for Northwest scoring her tenth goal of the season in the 5-1 victory over Missouri Western. Senior Tammie Eiberger kept pace with Von Mende scoring her ninth and tenth goals of the season in the win as well. Hannah Silvey added a goal in the 5-1 routing, her first of the season, while Emilee Davison contributed her second goal of the season in the win.
Davison continued her scoring ways in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Fort Hays State scoring her third goal of the season while Amanda Spade contributed her first goal of the season.
The number 10 Jennies are coming off of a 4-0 win over future MIAA foe Lindenwood University Sunday at Hunter Stadium in St Charles, Missouri. Central Missouri got goals from Carly Stanley, Alyssa Rhodes and two from Nicki Wisnasky in the win.
Thursday’s match between Northwest and No. 10 Central Missouri will find the Jennies looking to extend their 29-match conference winning streak. The match will be the 23rd meeting for the Jennies and Bearcats; Central Missouri leads the series 15-3-4. The Jennies defeated the Bearcats in Maryville 4-0 back on September 22,
Up Next: Northwest will return home to Bearcat Pitch Saturday, Oct. 22 as they play host to Lindenwood at 12 p.m. at Bearcat Pitch for their last home game of the 2011 season.
