Adams named MIAA Student-Athlete of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State University sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Adams has been named the MIAA Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 12-17 as selected by the league office Tuesday.
Adams recorded shutouts in both of Northwest Missouri State University's MIAA games last week. Adams recorded nine saves in Northwest's 0-0 draw against Truman State University last Thursday and then recorded a season high ten saves in the Bearcats' 2-0 win over Southwest Baptist University on Saturday.
Adams has recorded thirty-six saves so far this season and has only allowed seven goals.
In 2010 Adams played in 14 games as goalkeeper for Northwest making 90 saves, the eighth-best record in program history.
The Northwest Missouri State University (3-1-2, 1-0 MIAA) soccer team continues MIAA play this Thursday night when the host No. 15 Central Missouri (5-1-0, 1-0 MIAA) at 4 p.m. at Bearcat Pitch.
