Bearcats Tabbed Sixth in MIAA Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Defending MIAA Champion Central Missouri was unanimous No. 1 pick on Thursday in the preseason soccer coaches poll as announced by the league office. Northwest Missouri State was picked to finish sixth for the 2011 season in the poll.
The Bearcats finished the 2010 season 3-10-5 while they struggled to score offensively. However, Northwest was one of the top teams defensively in the MIAA.
Central Missouri earned nine first place votes (coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team) while Truman was picked second and took the remaining first place nod. Southwest Baptist was picked third followed by Missouri Southern and Washburn rounding out the top five.
Northwest was picked sixth with Missouri Western, Emporia State and Fort Hays State rounding out the final nine schools.
The Bearcats open their 2011 campaign Sept. 2 against Texas A&M-Commerce in Maryville.

9. Fort Hays State - 9 pts.
