Bundrant Scores First Goal of Season in Northwest Loss
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Missouri Southern junior forward Michelle Dimza scored her first two goals of the season as Northwest Missouri State lost Saturday morning to the Lions 2-1. All three goals were scored in the first half of the game.
Amanda Bundrant got the Bearcats on the board first scoring in the 14th minute off of a Kelsey Sanders assist. The goal is Bundrant's first of the season. Dimza would tie the score in the 33rd minute off of a rebound. Dimza would score nine minutes later off of a Corinne Tebbs free-kick to give Southern the lead for good.
Northwest doubled the Lions in shots recording 18 to Southern's 9. Southern had five corner kicks to Northwest's four. Lion goalkeeper Randi Russell recorded eight saves in improving her season mark to 3-3-2.
Northwest goalkeeper Liz Fulton got her first career start in the match. Fulton had six saves in net for the Bearcats. Next up for Northwest (1-7-2, 1-6-1 MIAA) will be a conference tilt with Truman next Saturday at 2 p.m. from Bearcat Pitch. Truman defeated Northwest in the conference opener this season 1-0 in Kirksville, Mo.
