Bearcats Fall in Overtime

Box Score

TOPEKA, Kan.—Washburn midfielder Keeley Lambeth scored two minutes into the first overtime for the game’s only goal and a 1-0 win against Northwest Missouri State Saturday at Yager Stadium.

The win avenged Washburn’s 2-0 loss to Northwest nine days prior. This time the Lady Blues held the Bearcats to one shot on goal and four shots total in 92 minutes.

Lambeth received a cross from Tia Stovall and drilled it into an open net. It was her second goal in 14 games this season.

Northwest goalkeeper Kira Lazenby stopped four shots but couldn’t prevent the gamewinner. It was the first goal allowed by the Bearcats in their last 272 minutes of play. Northwest’s last two losses have came in overtime where the team is 1-2-1 this season.
