Lazenby Named MIAA Player of the Week

MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State senior goalkeeper Kira Lazenby has been named the MIAA Defensive Player of the Week for the period ended Oct. 11. It's the third time Lazenby has earned the honor and second time this season.
Lazenby combined for seven saves in shutting out Washburn and Emporia State last week. The Bearcats beat both teams by scores of 2-0 and 1-0, respectively.
Lazenby was also credited with an assist, her first in a Bearcat uniform, on Northwest's second goal against Washburn. Lazenby now has an assist and a goal to go with 15 career shutouts, a program record.
Lazenby leads the MIAA in shutouts (7), saves (65) and save percentage (.878) through 13 games this season. Her 0.67 goals against average ranks second.
