Overtime Goal Sinks Northwest
OMAHA, Neb.-Jerica Kuncl netted the game-winning goal with eight seconds left in the first overtime to lift Nebraska-Omaha to a 2-1 win against Northwest Missouri State Saturday at UNO Soccer Field.
Northwest midfielder Shannon FitzGerald tied the game at 1-1 with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation. It was the first goal of the season for FitzGerald, who became the eighth Bearcat to net a goal this season.
The two teams combined to put seven shots on goal, three of which found the back of the net. The Mavericks held the Bearcats to six shots, one shy of their season low. Northwest has scored one goal in its last three games.
