Northwest Bearcats

Press Release

Sept. 24, 2009

Jax is Back

Jacque Dedovesh, Sophomore, D, Soccer

So I am sitting here at my computer listening to "She Wolf" and eating white cheddar cheez-its after our awesome win against SBU (the other Bearcats). I am soooooo happy that we got that win. It was a tough game and I even got a chance to play midfield - so exciting. We also won our game this last Thursday against Missouri Southern, also a tough game. We hadn't beat Southern since 2003 and I'm just so happy about how our team is doing this year!!

School is great too. I've had no homework lately. I got really lucky this semester (so far). I really have no complaints about anything. I'm looking forward to having a fantastic meal with my friends cooked by my roommate's awesome, cute Cuban grandma and live the dream a little bit more. All I really wish for right at this moment is more white cheddar cheez-its and that my parents could come to more games. I'll be sure to let you know how my mom's visit goes though in about a month. I am so tired but happy and I hope everyone's weekend is as great as mines going to be!!!!!

Jax is BACK!

I'm just sitting in bed talking to my mom on the phone about my quad. Tonight was the first practice I've not had to wrap my quad to play. The last three weeks I've been getting my butt kicked by trainers Kelly Quinlin and Devon Lacy. With my positive attitude, hard work and their knowledge I've been able to get stronger and I got to play a little bit last week against Missouri Southern and Southwest Baptist. I'm hoping to play a lot more tonight against Missouri Western.

Missouri Southern was a good game, a lot better than last year. SBU was a confidence booster for us because they came to Bearcat Pitch undefeated and left DEFEATED!! But like Coach always says, "It's a new week."

Missouri Western saw us play the first weekend here in Maryville and said that we aren't that good of a team. Even after we beat them 3-1 at home, I didn't feel we'd earned their respect. A win tonight on their home turf might do the trick. We're going to bring Maryville to St. Joe!

We have the weekend off and will be fresh and ready to go next week!!
