Getting Back On The Field
Jacque Dedovesh, Sophomore, D, Soccer
So this was a short week, but it felt like it lasted forever. I have not been practicing because my quad is still not recovered. However, all last week I have been working my butt off with Kelly Quinlin to get it strong again so maybe I can play this week.
It was definitely hard not playing against Truman, which we lost to, but shouldn't of. I stood on the sideline, basically being trainer Devon's assistant. When my teammates come off the field I made sure that they got cold water and some Gatorade. I also cheered everyone on and off the field! I basically tried to a trainer, cheerleader, assistant coach and teammate. But I am ready to get off the sideline and onto the soccer field. I start running tomorrow so we will see how I progress.
Looking back at last week, I thought Truman was a tough game. We could have kept them from a goal and we had our chances, but the one thing we did great was work as a team. We supported each other and never gave up. Saturday against Missouri Western, we had textbook offense. Our defense won the ball, moved it to the forwards and let them do what they do best! And I have to give kudos to Heidi Sobato for last week because she injured her ACL the first game last season and has came back and rocked the first two conference games by scoring a goal in each!
I had a relaxing weekend at home visiting with my mom and sister, but I have school work I need to finish for tomorrow!!
It's a new week with matches against Missouri Southern in Joplin and with Southwest Baptist at home Saturday.
