Lazenby Wins Player of the Week

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State goalkeeper Kira Lazenby has been chosen as the MIAA soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Lazenby, a senior from Payson, Utah, went 2-0 over the weekend with wins over Southwest Oklahoma State and Newman. Lazenby didn't allow a goal during the weekend and had eight saves. She also recorded a program-record 10th career shutout in the win over Newman.

Lazenby has started 21 games in-net for the Bearcats, giving up 17 goals and recording 100 saves. She has compiled a career record of 11-8-2 at Northwest.

This is the second career MIAA Player of the Week honor for Lazenby who also won the award Nov. 9 last season.
