Northwest Soccer Honored For Academics

MARYVILLE, Mo.—Northwest Missouri State’s soccer program under the direction of head coach Tracy Hoza is one of 260 women’s teams across America that posted a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award.

Northwest was one of five MIAA programs to earn the award. The Bearcats ranked 109th of the deserving teams with a 3.33 grade point average. Senior midfielder Holly Ramaeker, a first-team Academic All-District pick, carries a 3.94 grade point average.

The Bearcats finished with their best record in program history at 10-8-2. Northwest won six of its first seven games and beat two teams ranked in the top 10.
