Ramaeker Named First-Team; Two Others Honored
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State senior Holly Ramaeker is one of four first-team midfielders as the All-MIAA Women's Soccer Team was announced Wednesday.
The Bearcats had three all-conference players for the first time since 2000. Junior forward Andrea Tritz and junior goalkeeper Kira Lazenby were second-team selections. Freshman defender Jacque Dedovesh earned honorable mention.
Ramaeker is the second first-team selection in program history. She joins midfielder Janel Wegehaupt who earned first-team honors in the program's inaugural year of 1999.
Ramaeker started all 20 games and ranked second on the team in points (17), goals (7) and assists (3). She had two game-winning goals and tied a program record by recording a hat trick in a conference win against Missouri Western.
Tritz, the eighth-leading goal scorer in the league, tied program single-season records for points and goals with 18 and eight, respectively. She also became the first Bearcat to score a goal in four consecutive games, which she did to start the season. Tritz had four game-winning goals and five of her eight scores were the first of the game.
Lazenby's school-record eight shutouts this season were the second-most in the MIAA. Lazenby posted the fourth-most saves (92) and had the fourth-best goals against average (0.88) in the conference. She also had the game-winning goal in the Bearcats' season finale against Southwest Baptist and was the only goalkeeper to score in the MIAA this season.
Northwest set a program record for wins in a season, finishing with a 10-8-2 mark. The tally includes two wins against top-10 ranked teams.
