MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State (7-6-2, 3-6-2) will try to end a four-game winless streak at home today against the Emporia State Hornets (3-10-1, 1-8-1). Game time from Bearcat Pitch is 3 p.m.

The Bearcats are in danger of falling to .500 for the first time this season. Northwest started the year 6-1, but has won one out of seven matches since.

Northwest and Emporia State dueled to a 1-1 tie in Emporia, Kan., 12 days ago. Bearcat freshman Kelly Obley's first career goal tied it in the 73rd minute. Northwest out shot Emporia State 34-7 in that contest.

The Bearcats had won the previous five matches in the series prior to the tie. The Hornets haven't beaten the Bearcats since 2005 and haven't won in Maryville since 2004.

Andrea Tritz and Holly Ramaeker continue to lead the Bearcats with six goals and two assists this season. The program record for goals and points in a season are eight and 18, respectively.

Kira Lazenby posted a school-record five shutouts in the team's first nine matches, but Northwest hasn't posted one since. The Bearcats have allowed eight goals in their last four games after allowing seven goals in their first 11 contests.

Maryville received three inches of rain Wednesday so field conditions will be considerably wet. The forecast is calling for a high of 48 degrees.
