Bearcats Take On First-Place Jennies in Warrensburg
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Two of the MIAA's top defensive teams meet today in Warrensburg, Mo., as Northwest Missouri State (6-2-1, 2-2-1 MIAA) takes on Central Missouri (7-1-1, 5-0). Game time from Jennies Field is 7 p.m.
UCM is one of two unbeaten teams remaining in league play. The other, Southwest Baptist, hosts fourth-ranked Nebraska-Omaha this afternoon.
The Jennies have won five in a row and are unbeaten in their last seven (6-0-1). They've allowed two goals in their last five games and five goals all season.
Northwest has pitched five shutouts in nine games and have also given up five goals in 2008. The Bearcats only losses this season are to Nebraska-Omaha and Southwest Baptist.
The top offensive players on the field tonight are Melanie Hall (six goals) for the Jennies and Andrea Tritz and Holly Ramaeker (five goals each) for the Bearcats. Hall and Ramaeker are tied for third in the MIAA in points per game. Hall has scored in four of her last five games.
