
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -Northwest Missouri State senior Holly Ramaeker tied a program record by scoring three goals in the Bearcats’ 3-1 win against Missouri Western Saturday. Northwest (5-1, 1-1 MIAA) is 6-0-1 all-time against the Griffons (1-4-1, 0-2).
Ramaeker is the fourth player in program history to score three goals in a contest and the first since Kayla Griffin did so Aug. 26, 2006. Ramaeker scored on two penalty kicks in the second half and posted her third goal in the 80th minute on Krista Pollman’s first assist of the season.
The teams combined for seven shots in a scoreless first half.
Ramaeker’s first goal came in the fifth minute of the second half. Audrey Henderson tied it less than eight minutes later with her first goal of the year. Ramaeker scored the game-winner with less than 13 minutes left to play.
Kira Lazenby stopped six shots in the second half and seven in the game to improve to 4-1 at goalkeeper for Northwest. Jenna Weis had four saves for the Griffons.
