
WICHITA, Kan.-Northwest Missouri State got two more goals from Andrea Tritz and Holly Ramaeker and scored another 2-0 victory after blanking host-Newman Sunday. Tritz and Ramaeker accounted for both goals in a 2-0 win against Southwestern Oklahoma State Saturday in the Bearcats' season opener.
Tritz struck in the 18th minute with a goal to the upper left corner of the net. Sara Meidlinger was credited with the assist. Ramaeker scored on a header in the 31st minute after receiving a cross from Krista Pollman.
Kira Lazenby recorded two saves to earn her second shutout to begin the season. The Bearcats outshot the Jets 12-8.
Northwest has won its first two games of the season for the first time in program history (since 1999). The Bearcats will have a chance to make it three in a row Friday when Northwest hosts Northeastern State in its home opener at Bearcat Pitch.
