Soccer Team Wraps Up Preseason Trip
MARYVILLE, Mo.-The Northwest Missouri State soccer team recently completed a week-long trip to Colorado to help prepare for the upcoming season while at the same time getting to know some new members. The Bearcats boast 29 student-athletes in 2008 - the largest team in program history.
The trip took the team through the Colorado cities of Limon, Edwards, Glenwood Springs and Denver. Sites along the way included Garden of the Gods, Continental Divide and the United States Olympic Training Center. The Bearcats also took in an MLS match, went for a hike at Hanging Lake and worked in some whitewater rafting.
There was plenty of Northwest soccer played as well. The Bearcats held practices and worked in scrimmages against Colorado Mountain College and Metro State.
It's the second time in the last three seasons that head coach Tracy Hoza has taken the team to Colorado for preseason training. The Bearcats open their 2008 season Aug. 30 against Southwestern Oklahoma State in Wichita, Kan.
