Obley Earns Division II Degree-Completion Award
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Northwest Missouri State student-athlete Krista Obley was one of 86 athletes to earn an NCAA Division II Degree-Completion Award, given to Division II athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and received athletic financial aid. Obley finished a four-year soccer career for the Bearcats in 2007.
Obley scored five career goals and provided two assists as a Northwest defender. She was named to the MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll twice and served as team captain in 2007.
The Division II Degree-Completion Award program provides financial assistance to deserving student-athletes with completion of a first baccalaureate degree. Recipients are selected on the basis of several factors, with emphasis on academic performance. Other factors considered are financial circumstances, athletics achievement, and involvement in campus and community activities.
