Bearcats Shut Out Missouri Western 1-0 in Season Finale
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - (Box Score) Krista Pollman scored her second goal of the season in the eighth minute to pull Northwest Missouri State soccer to a 1-0 victory over Missouri Western tonight. The Bearcats end the season 6-11-1 with a 5-8-1 record in MIAA play.
Pollman scored unassisted at 7:20 in the first half for her second game-winning goal of the season. She set a new career-high with three shots on goal, leading all players.
Andrea Freeman, Holly Ramaeker, and senior Marti Trummer each had five shots to help the Bearcats outshoot Missouri Western 23-12. The Northwest defense, led by seniors Brittany Cash, Krista Obley and Amy Jackson, allowed only one shot on goal from the Griffons in the 35th minute.
Goalkeeper Lauren Hodgson recorded her third shutout this season to finish in a tie for third in school records.
