Two Late Goals Lift the Bearcats to 2-0 Victory Over Emporia State
EMPORIA, Kan. - (Box Score) Northwest Missouri State soccer scored two late goals en route a 2-0 victory over Emporia State tonight. The Bearcats (4-9-1, 3-6-1) tallied a season-high 27 shots while the Northwest defense held the Hornets to a single shot and none on goal.
Andrea Freeman scored her second goal of the season in the 88th minute from 10 yards out off a pass from Amanda Deml. Deml followed with a goal of her own with 39 seconds remaining by dribbling past the goalie for a 10-yard shot.
Deml notched her fifth goal of the season, moving into a tie for eighth in season records. Her three points from a goal and an assist moves her into eighth in career points with 22.
Holly Ramaeker led the Bearcats career highs in shots (8) and shots on goal (4). Deml's three shots move her into a tie for fourth in school career shot records with 87.
Northwest will wrap up the home schedule on Oct. 19 when Missouri Southern visits Bearcat Pitch for a 2 p.m. game.
