Bearcat Soccer Travels to Truman Today for 2 p.m. Game
MARYVILLE - (Game Notes) Northwest Missouri State soccer travels to Kirksville, Mo., today for a 2 p.m. MIAA game with Truman.
The Bearcats are 3-7 and 2-4 in MIAA play, going 3-2 in a five-game home stand that ended last weekend.
Marti Trummer contributed to three of the four Bearcat goals last week, providing a goal and assist against Missouri Western on Sept. 28 and scoring in the 77th minute against then-No. 6 Central Missouri to force overtime. Trummer added onto her school career assists record with her 11th over the weekend and moved into a tie for eighth in school career records with her fifth and sixth career goals.
Amy Jackson scored the game-winning goal against Missouri Western off her fourth career penalty kick in the 85th minute. She holds the school career record for successful penalty kicks, after converting on three in 2006.
Truman enters with a 7-3-1 overall record and is 4-1-1 in MIAA play. The lone tie came against then-No. 6 Central Missouri on Sept. 28 in a 1-1 game at Truman. The Bulldogs are receiving votes in the latest NSCAA/adidas national poll and are fourth in the Central Region poll, both released Oct. 2. Truman is unbeaten at home this season at 4-0-1, and has shutout three of the last four opponents. Jessica Weigert is leading Truman with four goals and 16 shots on goal.
